Senator DeWitte Hosts Cleaning Product and Toiletry Drive for St. Charles Tri-City Salvation Army and Food for Greater Elgin Pantries

To help replenish supplies of household cleaning products and toiletries at the St. Charles (Tri-City) Salvation Army and Food for Greater Elgin Food Pantries, State Senator Don DeWitte (R-St. Charles) is sponsoring a collection drive through May 24. His legislative offices in West Dundee and St. Charles will serve as drop-off points for donations.

“Both of these non-profits have said their supplies for these kinds of items are running low, so I would like to appeal to the people of the 33rd Senate District to provide some assistance,” said DeWitte. “We have people right here in this area who rely on these pantries for everyday necessities that extend beyond food, and as they have always done in the past, I am hoping the residents who are in a position to help will do so generously.”

Senator DeWitte’s West Dundee office is located at 641 South 8th Street, and his St. Charles office is located at 406 Surrey Woods Drive, Suite A. Both are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM.

Suggested donation items include laundry detergent, soap, body wash/shower gel, toilet paper, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, hand soap, sanitary napkins, razors, infant/adult diapers, wipes, dish soap, all-purpose cleaner, and window cleaner.

“The last time we hosted a collection drive like this we had a phenomenal response, and I am hopeful we will once again be able to replenish the pantries’ dwindling supplies.
