Senator DeWitte, Representative Ugaste to Host FREE Document Shredding Event & Food Drive

State Senator Don DeWitte (R-St. Charles) and State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) are inviting their constituents to safely dispose of old bank records, receipts, and other documents at a free shred event that will be held at the Salvation Army Tri-City Corps Community Center on Saturday, June 28 from 9:00-11:00 AM. Non-perishable foods will also be collected for the Salvation Army Food Pantry. The truck will be on-site until 11:00 or until it is full.

Document Shredding Event & Food Drive

9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (or until shred truck is full)
Salvation Army Tri-City Corps Joe K. Anderson Community Center
1710 S. 7th Ave., St. Charles

Participants are asked to follow traffic signs and remain in their vehicles. Shred truck staff will unload cars. Parking will be available for those who wish to see their documents fed into the shredder. While paper folders, staples and paper clips can be fed into the shredder, large binder clips, plastic file folders, and old floppy discs cannot be. Additionally, no electronics will be accepted for recycling or disposal.

“As people are gathering their sensitive documents for free, safe and secure destruction, I hope they will look through their kitchen pantry and grab a few nonperishable items to donate,” said DeWitte. “It’s a pleasure to offer this free service for the shared constituencies we serve and to help replenish supplies at the Salvation Army’s food pantry.”

For additional information on this event, constituents can call Senator DeWitte’s office at (847) 214-8245 or email Abby at amccarthy@sgop.ilga.gov.
