Senator Don DeWitte to Host ICASH Unclaimed Property Event in South Elgin

State Senator Don DeWitte (R-St. Charles) is partnering with the Illinois Treasurer’s Office on Tuesday, August 19 with hopes of connecting residents of the 33rd Senate District with more than $5 billion in unclaimed property and cash. From 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, attendees can meet with a counselor from the Treasurer’s Office to learn if some of the unclaimed items are theirs. In addition to helping people search for property and cash, counselors can help them file claims.

“We have had tremendous success in helping people find cash and property they didn’t even know they were owed,” said DeWitte. “In fact, over the last few years we have returned tens of thousands of dollars to constituents from the 33rd District.”

“Right now, the state could be holding inheritance money or funds from a forgotten bank account that belongs to you,” added DeWitte. “Don’t let it remain unclaimed. Stop by to see if you are owed money and take ownership of what belongs to you.”
