Representative Ugaste, Senator DeWitte Participating in Diaper Drive

State Senator Don DeWitte (R-St. Charles), State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva), and their offices are participating in a Diaper Drive to benefit not-for-profit groups in southern Kane and Kendall counties. This Diaper Drive has been organized by the Fox Valley United Way.

Diapers will be collected at Rep. Ugaste and Sen. DeWitte’s District Office in St. Charles, located at 406 Surrey Woods Drive, Unit A, through September 14. A collection bin has been placed inside the front doors of the office. Drop-off hours are between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“This diaper drive will address a critical need for families that rely on local non-profit agencies for household essentials,” said Senator DeWitte. “There is always a demand for diapers in all sizes, and I am pleased to help the United Way collect items that will help families across the region.”

In addition, diapers will be collected at Rep. Ugaste’s Shred Event and Food Drive, to be held Saturday, September 14, at the Gail Borden Public Library District, Rakow Branch, 2751 W. Bowes Rd., Elgin, from 9-11 a.m.

“Please consider making a donation to help your neighbors in need,” Rep. Ugaste stated. “Diapers are very expensive and many families are struggling to afford them.”

Diapers cannot be purchased with WIC or SNAP benefits, and food pantries are limited in the amount of diapers they can give out per child. Diapers sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 are needed, with the larger sizes in the greatest of need. Pull-ups, adult diapers, and baby wipes are also needed. All donations will be distributed to families through non-profit organizations in southern Kane and Kendall counties.

PLEASE NOTE: Monetary donations cannot be accepted by Rep. Ugaste’s office or Sen. DeWitte’s office. All monetary donations must be made to the United Way directly.

For additional information on this event, constituents can call Senator DeWitte’s office at (847) 214-8245 or Representative Ugaste’s office at (630) 797-5530.
