On Saturday, May 14, State Senator Don DeWitte (R-St. Charles) and State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) are hosting a free shred event and food drive at the former St. Charles Police Station (211 N. Riverside Ave., St. Charles) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
“The shred truck provides residents with a safe and secure way to dispose of sensitive documents like old bank statements, tax documents and receipts, and the food collection will benefit many families in need right here in the immediate area,” DeWitte said. “I’m looking forward to a large turnout at this popular annual event.”
Participants are asked to follow traffic signs and remain in their vehicles. Shred staff will unload cars. Nonperishable food items will be accepted and appreciated for the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
“It’s so important to properly dispose of sensitive documents to protect our personal information and identities,” said Rep. Ugaste. “I’m glad to partner with Senator DeWitte for this event to give residents an opportunity to safely dispose of their documents and give back to communities in need with our food drive. I look forward to seeing everybody next Saturday!”
