State Senator Don DeWitte (St. Charles) is one of only four state senators to receive a 100 percent voting record on the Technology and Manufacturing Association’s 2019 Legislative Scorecard.
Scores were given based on each legislator’s voting record on bills important to the manufacturing community. According to the TMA, only 27 percent of Illinois Senate members received a score of 70 percent or more, and the average score was 37 percent.
“Unfortunately, the manufacturing community in Illinois has had to face several challenges over the years,” said Sen. DeWitte. “These are important job creators for our economy and we, as legislators, must do what we can to not only retain these businesses but also attract new ones. It’s unfortunate to see the dismal voting record in the General Assembly, which reflects the lack of support the manufacturing industry has recently received from Illinois lawmakers.”
